Pressure as truck-heaps of herders, steers arrive Enugu people group
— TENSION and dissent, yesterday, welcomed the entry and settlement of more than 200 herders and their dairy animals at Agu Obodo, Obeagwu Ozalla in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. The challenging group individuals said they were overpowered by more than five trucks that off-stacked the herders, their families and bovines in the group and is requesting that the herders leave their territory inside three days as their kin can no longer go to their ranches. President-General of Ozalla Development Union, ODU, Chief Afam Ani, who drove the dissenting ladies, young people and conventional rulers yesterday, said the herders' landing, weekend, brought about extensive uneasiness and frenzy in the town, with his kin living closest to homestead settlements relinquishing their ranches and residences and taking asylum in different parts of the town. Ani described to newsmen that the herders asserted they were expelled from their past settlements at Maryland in Enugu South Local Government Area and chose to resettle in Ozalla. He said they had educated security organizations, the neighborhood and state governments to help them remove the herders, refering to a monstrous affair the group had with the herders in 2012, when they assaulted, assaulted and wrecked properties in the group. The President-General uncovered that the herders consented to empty the group inside three days, however that he is begging the security offices to implement the understanding.
